WEST ASHLING & FUNTINGTON DISTRICT HALL IMPROVEMENTS

Those who live in the Parish of Funtington will know that our village hall (now renamed West Ashling and Funtington District Hall or WAFDH) is in a sad state of repair. After serving over 100 years, it is no longer fit for purpose.

The trustees are investigating options for a long term solution, but in the meantime certain repairs are essential to keep the hall functioning. We have commissioned Our House Construction Ltd to carry out a number of repairs, including:-

Replace front and fire doors

Repair gutters

Upgrade external lighting

Repair hole in car park

Totally replace kitchen

Upgrade smoke and heat detectors

Work is scheduled to start 3rd April and take about 4 weeks. Most of the cost is being funded by a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) grant from South Downs National Park.

I addition we are replacing all the overhead heaters and installing additional storage heaters. The latter should maintain a background heat, so that the hall will warm up more quickly when the wall and overhead heaters are switched on.
